"Perched on the northern shore of the Harlem Meer is Central Park's newest building — the first in its history to be built specifically as a visitor center. The Charles A. Dana Discovery Center opened to the public in 1993 and offers a wide variety of the Conservancy's free education and community programs, seasonal exhibits, and holiday celebrations. Catch-and-release fishing at the Harlem Meer has become a favorite family and community pastime. The Dana Center provides poles, unbarbed hooks, and instruction booklets. There is also a fishing jamboree celebrated each year after Labor Day. Adjacent to the Dana Center is a small plaza where annual events take place. These include the Harlem Meer Performance Festival, the Halloween Pumpkin Sail of candlelit Jack O'Lanterns across the Meer, and the Dana Holiday Lighting."

Our Philosophy.
Of course, this is pretty simple. To offer a premium product, at a reasonable price in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Our promise and hope is to become an integral part of this community, our community's life. We want this little corner spot to become that place you go to meet that guy or girl your best friend set you up with on that blind date; the spot you come to on a gray Saturday for hot chocolate; the quirky joint that is kid friendly and welcomes the independent writer who wants to check her email. We want to become that place where you're sure to get a hot muffintop and a fresh cup of coffee; a sandwich, soup or salad at lunch or a baguette and pastries for dinner. We want to become that place where old and new Harlemites meet up.

A pleasant surprise to find a nice French creperie in this neighborhood. I tried the croque monsieur and it was not bad. But I thought the price was too high. The best bets are definitely both the savory and sweet crepes.
